OTN Performance opened in the Fall of 2008 at its Niles facility in the Eastwood Mall Complex. The focus of OTN was to provide quality instruction to interested baseball and softball players. OTN provided teams for high school baseball players, it offered training, and it offered video technology that rivaled many professional baseball teams. The combination of these three qualities helped OTN establish itself as a recognizable name in the baseball and softball training industry.
In the winter of 2010 OTN hired Brian Donohew who had just finished his season as the recruiting coordinator and pitching coach for the Akron Zips under Pat Bangtson. Brian brought a new focus to OTN Performance, "building better people through baseball and softball." This mantra established a new path for OTN which has become a mainstay of its training regimen. In many ways the hiring of Coach Donohew marked a turning point in OTN's development as a company and as a training facility. The hiring of Donohew also spurred the hiring of two highly talented full-time instructors Neil Schaffner and Ken Tirpack. They quickly fell comfortably into place as senior instructors and brought with them both knowledge, focus, and quality instruction.
In the Summer of 2011 OTN hired Joe Gabriel, pitching coach at Boardman and assistant coach of the 18u Ohio Glaciers, a very successful travel baseball program located in Struthers, OH. Mr. Gabriel immediately demonstrated his progressive attitudes by combining his followers with Dave Kagjanich and the members of the powerful Team Ohio travel baseball program all under the OTN banner. This merge, spearheaded by Gabriel has put OTN on the verge of becoming a top contender in the 18u age bracket on a national level. Joe has worked tirelessly to promote OTN to all the surrounding counties. The hiring of Gabriel was a necessary and a fantastic move for OTN.
The future looks bright for OTN, it has goals to open two new facilities, one in Poland and the other in the suburbs of Cleveland, expand it's online college advisement program and to continually provide fantastic instruction day-in and day-out. OTN is here to help players achieve their goals, to make that extra phone call to the college coach, and to provide every player with honest and focused instruction through the course of their baseball and softball career.
